Aromatherapy Workshop

The workshops will be hosted at Syrendell in Davis, CA (unless otherwise noted).  Directions will be emailed to you upon registration.  Davis is located approximately 20 minutes from downtown Sacramento and 1.5 hrs. from San Francisco, near I-80 and Hwy. 113. 




Workshop Leaders


Rick Tan, MD
Rick is a musician, artist, wedding officiant and Waldorf teacher.  He currently is teaching at Davis Waldorf School.  He has a Medical Doctorate, a BA in biological sciences, and is finishing his Waldorf Teaching Certificate at Steiner College.  Rick spent ten years at home with the children and was a homeschooling parent.  He also was a guest teacher grades K-12 and a GATE facilitator.  You can find Rick's beautiful handcarved woodwork in our Etsy shop, and musings about Waldorf education on his blog.


Jennifer Tan, MA
Jennifer is a musician, fiber artist, prenatal yoga instructor, aromatherapist, wedding officiant and educator. She has an MA in Education Administration, a BA in Classicial Civilization, and CA state teaching and administrative credentials. Retired from service as an elementary school principal, she has homeschooled her children in a Waldorf-inspired environment and is an adjunct university professor. Jennifer consults homeschooling families, and runs two Etsy shops, providing families with fiber arts tools, totes, and supplies.  Jennifer has appeared in the TV show Uncommon Threads on the DIY Network and HGTV, has been published in Belle Armoire magazine, and has taught crocheting and other fiber arts lessons and workshops throughout the US.  She blogs about homeschooling and Waldorf-inspired adventures.
